Sitting Indian-style On Hard Wood Floors

My last post was on Christmas?!?!?! Woaaaaahhhh!!!! Sorry! Not like a have a lot of reader's that CARE at this point, and that's ok. It's a young blog. I think that's the reason it took me so long. I gave up. I'm a quiter....Nope! Scratch that! I WAS a quiter, but I'm working very hard to break some bad habits (which apparently take 21 days according to my psychology/teacher friend). These habits including things like eating ice cream then trying to go to bed and peeling my cuticles off. The latter is disgusting and painful and must be stopped!

I realized when I was reading this blog so far that it's been pretty phony. The Christmas post was farely geniune, but it sounds like I want people to think I know what I'm talking about. This is entirely untrue! I know very little about clothes and fashion at this point. I mean, I'm seventeen and until very recently I have been horrible when it came to clothes and personal style. i.e. my childhood filled with jeans and t-shirts (acceptable), my "wangster/ghetto" phase, my emo/goth/scene phases, and my hippy phase (which was not too bad). All of this was just leading up to who I am now. Whoever that is. All I'm saying it that I'm trying to finally be comfortable in my own skin. What I wear has a lot to do with it. I'm going to wear what I want without trying to impress or outdress anyone else.

I have this theory that once I find something I have a passion for I'll be a little happier. I thought that maybe this interest in fashion was just another one of my phases, so I didn't take my interest very seriously, but all day I've been unable to tear myself away from fashion blags and magazines. The whole time I was pouring over them all, I've had a feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I can't wait for my next chance to go shopping! I can't wait for my mom to get our sewing machine fixed so I can make my own clothes! I can't wait to get some money so I can go thrifting! I've never felt this type of excitement for anything else. Conclusion: I am in love with fashion.

So, I will continue this blog. I'm going to start posting my outfits, and pretty much just make it a lot more personal than it has been so far. If it doesn't go anywhere, oh well. At least I kept the promise to myself to maintain it. It'll be like a fashion diary. Chances are, I'm going to grow along the way, and my style will run wild!

Happy Holidays!!!

Today be Christmas day day day! Well, night, I suppose since it's 10:30. As a traditional American family, we celebrate Christmas almost purely for the presents and the traditions, not so much Jesus, but Happy Birthday, Jesus!!

Two of my favorite ornaments. Both courtesy of Urban Outfitters. Go Urban!

Merry Christmas, everyone :)

Back to fashion, I'm going to share something with you I have been waiting for a looooooong time!

THE TRENCH COAT!!!

I have been searching for a decent trench coat for maybe a year or more. Now they're back in! They're classic. I know, I know, they've keep bouncing in and out, but you can't deny, they're wonderful. This spring, designers are kicking the classic look up a notch.

Tons of designers are putting their own spin on the trench from Christian Dior to Alexander Wang. It will certainly be an interesting spring season. Don't pretend you aren't excited. ;)

First Item on the Bill...

To begin, I want to say how gosh darn excited I am about the new Rodarte for Target collection! I went to Target's online store last night to order my favorite piece (the leopard print dress), but they're sold out! NOOOOOO!!!!!!! I guess it just goes to show how amazing it all is. Kate and Laura, I applaud you.

Of course, had I a valid driver's license I would hope right into my van, and face the cold, snowy day to get to my local Target just so that I could spend every cent I had on the latest, best line ever, but sadly I do not. So I have to wait...Or I could break the law and go anyway! It would be worth it. I could live for years in jail as long as I knew I had an amazing dress back home just waiting for me to get out and wear it.

Happy Firstpostday!!

I feel like I'm giving birth to my first child through this blog! I hereby swear to love it and care for it (almost) everyday. I do have a tendency to be easily destracted and forgetful, but we will do our best.

Over the past year I've become increasingly interested in fashion, and I'm going to keep that the main theme here. I would like to know about anywhere that is a good sorce of fashion updates and inspiration, so please comment.

P.S. I'm new here. So it might be a while before this blog becomes anything special. Help me out. Read it, and spread the word.

Love,
Jera
